Handmade Party Invitations

I've really enjoyed preparing these party invitations.  My husband's grandmother turns 90 this summer, so we're planning a celebration in honor of her birthday.  I used an old photo of her for the front (you know, this may be from 70 years ago maybe, but she really hasn't changed at all!) and per her request, I incorporated a hummingbird, too!

I cannot wait to get the custom postage stamps I ordered to coordinate with these.  After measuring all the pieces and cutting & pasting the items needed, it was easy to set up an assembly line to get the number of invitations that were needed completed in a jiffy.

Inspiring Season of Graduations & Summer Dreams...

Playing with Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalog order that just came in... I CASEd this from the Summer mini catalog (page 10), with a few alterations in color and accessories.... Open Sea is a very nice nautical theme stamp set in the Summer catalog.  The sentiment is from the Word Play stamp set which is an amazing 30% off this month in celebration of National Scrapbooking Month.  The 2 sets make a great combo - especially at graduation time.  The sentiment is inspiring to anyone...

Have a great weekend & hope we all get a chance to follow our dreams this summer!

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope all you stamping mothers out there are relaxing today and enjoying yourselves.
Are your kids behaving?  I hope so.  I'm pleased to say my canine kid is doing very well, today, thank you!  :)
Just sharing photos of some cards I handmade to give to my mom for Mothers Day.
The stamp is from Stampabilities.  Such a cute mouse & hummingbird don't you think?
I stamped the image with Staz On ink onto watercolor paper, then used my pens and a water color brush to color them.  Colors shown are Cameo Coral (retired), Blushing Bride & Mellow Moss (retired).

I used SU! Tulips border embossing folder for a textured frame around the image.
This is a great folder to add a nice touch directly on your cardstock base.
It fits perfectly on the front of an A2 size card (4.25" x 5.5").

I made a matching box for the cards as well.  A set of six cards (2 of each color) with envelopes with little birds stamped on the outside were nestled inside a box that looked just like one of cards.
Who says you ever get too old to make your mom something for Mothers Day?  Not me!

So pleased my mother liked these cards.  Enjoy your day!
Love you, Mom!
