Tea Time

Yeah, I'm jumping on the tea wagon today... seriously I need to give coffee a rest, so Tea Time it is.

This is such a popular theme and there are so many stamp sets to choose from, it's hard to pick just one set to use... The steel rule dies that coordinate with this Paper Trey Ink stamp set are hard to beat, so I had to play with these toys that are new to my collection of craft supplies.  I'm not sure which is best, cut the image out then stamp, or stamp and try to cut around that image, but I'm going with option #1 as the best choice when using these stamps and die sets.  If you have tips on that, send them my way!

I love the colors of Stampin' Up!'s Everyday Enchantment paper, but the more vibrant colors make me want to change the sentiment on this card before I send it out...(to me it's too bright for the "relax" phrase...know what I mean?).  There are many other phrases in PTI's Tea for Two stamp set so I'm sure I'll find the perfect one.

Take care all, and if you get a chance, relax with a cup of tea and enjoy some crafting today.

Happiest Birthday!

Oh no!  My card has no GREEN in it today...  Don't pinch me!
Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone.
I wanted to post a birthday card today as it's my nephew's birthday.  This is totally NOT the card I made for him (way too girlie).  His card went in the mail before it was photographed, but my thoughts are all birthday this week.  My boy (our dog) turns 3 this coming week, too, so I expect I'll be posting more birthday cards later.

In the card above, I used Stampin' Up! Attic Boutique papers, Framelit Labels dies, and stamp set, Apothecary Art.  Lots of ways to layer using those dies and I really enjoyed coloring in the flowers to match the paper I chose.  Pool Party & Daffodil Delight colors look fresh & springlike, too.

Got to give a shout out to Paper Crafter's Library today.  I'm super excited to be chosen as one of their trend reporters.  My first article comes out next week.  They are also giving away a year membership.  You can learn more on their blog.  Lots of creative energy & tons of information await you there.

I better post SOMETHING green today...so let's go digital!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Dare to Dream

I am thrilled when my craft and fitness on-line friendships coordinate...  I am a firm believer that your creative pursuits are an important part of a healthy lifestyle.  My buddies over at Jillian Michaels on-line fitness program and I are working on challenges every day to realize our fitness & personal goals.  This week we were challenged to create a Dream Board (or Vision Board).  It was perfect timing as I had just finished this project for my craft friends at Inkspirations 4U.  Here's a look at a sample board...

I also created this saying that could be printed and attached to an unfinished board to give to a friend or loved one to complete one of their own...

With a .png file I accessed in My Digital Studio I also added a frame around the saying...

I hope you have a chance to realize your dreams, or at least be on your path to lead a truly happy, healthy life. And if you need any help along the way, ask for it, find it, make it happen.
Take care, my crafty friends and good luck to all the Jillian Michaels' All Stars!

SQSC29 Thoughts of You

I thought I wouldn't have time to make a challenge card this weekend, but while the clock wants to tell me to wrap things up, my body still thinks I have plenty of time this Sunday evening...
Happy Time Change Sunday, everyone!

I found the Stampin' Queen's Sketch Challenge this weekend to be right up my alley.  Their sponsor this week has a really cool product to make your cards "re-usable" and I love that idea.  Here was the challenge sketch:

Along the lines of making a card re-usable, I have all these unused "bill paying" size envelopes laying around (the 6.5" x 3.5" size). I imagine a lot of other people have spare envelopes this size, so guessed this is a good size for a re-usable card. My card's dimensions this week are 6"x3" to easily fit inside those envelopes.

The stamps I used are from Stampin' Up, images from Elementary Elegance and sentiment from Loving Thoughts.  Colors used include Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede.

UPDATE- what a difference daylight makes - I took my card outstide - what a difference that makes! I so need photography lessons... let's just say "I'm working on it...!"

I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of some new lighting to help me take better photos of my cards at night (when I stamp the most). I so hope that arrives soon...
Well, I guess I cannot let any more time slip away, so signing off.

Have a great weekend everyone, and good luck getting up on time tomorrow!
(No, not my dog, just a pic I found, but Zzzzz... don't I wish this was me!?)

Custom Cards - SO fun to make!

I am so happy that my crafty habit has an outlet and a fan-base, which includes dear friends that come to me in need of a custom card for someone special.  I wanted to share a couple of the simple, yet fun cards I made for a wonderful friend - one of my Jillian Michaels' workout buddies!  Above was a simple card I made for her for a friend who sells custom monogram bags (Thirty-One bags).  If you are familiar with the bags, maybe you recognized the style (?).

But by far my favorites, are these sport theme cards for my friend's husband.  And no, I didn't just happen to have the perfect sport diecuts on hand- the images I used I found on-line, re-sized and printed to fit the cards.  You gotta love technology, and of course, if you're a blogger/cardmaker, I KNOW you understand that!

Anyway, just had to post something I meant to share long ago.  AND also to give you hope... if you're like me and just want to craft the night away, it sure is fun to find a way to give your cardmaking a purpose.  Spreading joy to others is a big part of this hobby- so spread the joy & make something fun tonight!

Hello followers! I hope you are all doing well and weathering any passing storms. It's been a crazy winter, and now looks to be a stormy spring.  I sure hope if you're reading this that means you are safe and sound.

Tonight, I'm just playing around with MDS and the "Eclectic Overlays" stamp brush set.  This set allows you to "stamp" a framed image with a vintage look. This digital card is a work in progress, but fun to play no matter what...

Good news, there is a new session of INKspirations 4U! starting March 12.
This means that I have a FREE PASS to give away!
The theme is "Celebrating U!" Madeline puts together an amazing amount of tutorials to inspire you to use in stamping clubs or just for fun.

CONGRATULATIONS, Margaret!  Have fun playing next week!
