Don't Text and Craft...

Well, okay, maybe you can text & craft, but I find it very difficult (my fingers are way too busy doing one or the other!).  I still have my teenage niece on my mind for her birthday week as I made this text message card.

Actually, my original inspiration is from this week's Paper Crafters Library Makeover Monday Challenge that showcases an easy, simple card design.  Simple projects are perfect for people like me, short on time, but really wanting to create a card to release some craft energy.  When I grabbed this patterned paper with all the circles, I knew I wanted to use words that complemented it, but didn't take up much space, so OMG came to mind first... (although hindsight wishes I went with LOL).

Now just waiting for that perfect "gossip-y news" to share with my sister or a friend so I can mail it away!  Hee hee...
Happy crafting, everyone.

Happy Birthday, Sweet 16!

Oh my, how time flies... My niece is turning 16 this week.  I'm so excited for her.  She's a beautiful, smart, talented young woman.  I had to make a cheerful, colorful card for her special day...

I was able to use my new decorative scallop circle Nestabilities my sister sent me for my upcoming birthday, so this is a birthday card made with a birthday present!
Listening to the music CD she made for me as I made this card, ah, to be young again...
Well, at least I can try to stay young at heart...  Have a wonderful day!

Happy Easter, Everybunny!

Isn't this the sweetest little Easter bunny?   I love the stamp set, Everybunny, from Stampin' Up!  In fact, I guess I have lots of extras ready for next year, as I kept stamping the images (in Staz On ink), then coloring them over & over & over... yes, it's addictive.  Fortunately, the more I practiced, the better I did at coloring.

In my cards below, I used the images with a few different color schemes, matching some patterned paper from Paper Trey Ink.  The pastel colors are perfect for this spring holiday...

I used watercolor paper for the images, and first used markers and blender pen to color them, then later found much better results using my inks as watercolors.  I pressed some of the ink color on a plastic surface, then used some water & a brush to color.
Here is my favorite combo using Paper Trey Ink colors, Fine Linen and Aqua Mist...

And of course, I had to make a pink card for someone special, so here is my Pink Pirouette and Aqua Mist combo card (FYI, PTI's Aqua Mist and Stampin' Up's Pool Party colors are very similar, so great way to use interchangeably, or good to know if you are looking for new pattern paper to match those colors).

Have a wonderful Easter!
