Ah, Holiday Monday at home... so nice...

Hope everyone is having a fun Memorial Day today.  It's warm, sunny, breezy, perfect for this late spring holiday.  When it was hot earlier this week, I got a chance to "play" inside with some new Stampin' Up! supplies... Here's a little Sneak Peek.  I used some things that are available VERY soon (June 1!)...

I used some new DSP called Comfort Cafe for these cards.  The cards are a little busy, but I just got a little excited trying to use all the pretty patterns and new colors.  The stamps on the card above I used include a new image from a set called Papaya Collage, and then trustworthy standard greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes and Netting background stamp.

The DSP above is from the same, Comfort Cafe.  And did you notice the stitching?  Yes, I actually got out my paper piercer and thread and handstitched a little on these cards.  That was more enjoyable than in the past... I think having some time off to relax really paid off & gave me more patience for that otherwise tedious embellishment.

Just had to post something new for this upcoming week's new SU! catalog kick off.  Enjoy & have a great week.  As always, Happy Stamping!

A tisket, a tasket, a little paper basket...

Welcome, Blog Hoppers!
I am really excited to participate in a blog hop, and it's that much more fun surrounded by the crafty friends I've met through the very talented designer, Madeline Marcelo, founder of Ink4U, The Studio on-line craft community.  Register for free to share ideas and sign up for fun projects!

Madeline, along with past, present & future designers have so many projects to share, it's hard to pick a favorite.  But check out this project I created when Martha Gomez shared her "Sweet Basket" design in the Christmas 2011 edition of classes for Inkspirations 4U.  I've been hooked on this very sweet little paper basket ever since I first tried it. I love how you can transform a single sheet of paper into this little basket.

It's quick & fun to make and easy to style this little basket for any occasion, whether it's a party favor, birthday, holiday or just a simple token of appreciation.  The little basket is also a great way to use some retiring 6x6 designer paper.  For the Thank You basket below that holds a couple Shimmer Paint pots, I used Stampin' Up! Concord Crush Hostess 6x6 DSP and a little matching Concord Crush ribbon on the handle.

My original basket that I shared during the Christmas design classes, was actually made into a fun give away for Halloween.  And of course I filled it with SWEETS - I think that's what the title of the basket was intended for (the holiday classes started in October so there was plenty of time to prepare holiday projects).

After you're done "hopping," check out my designs for a mini-basket and stamped candle and Framelits Heart box from my previous Ink4U posts.
Keep on blog hoppin' and have a great day!

Hello, Doily!

If you are a Stampin' Up! fan, then you know that this is the time of year that is both exciting and sad, as some favorite things are "retired", but new products are just on the horizon.  I'll admit, I tend to go a little overboard browsing the retired stamps list thinking all the things I've passed up before I MUST have now, but plenty of favorites will remain current, including this "Hello Doily" stamp.

Why did I wait so long before getting this stamp?  I really like it and it's easy to decorate for any occasion.
If you'd like to browse the Retired List and do a little shopping at my on-line store, then click here.
