(Old) Friends with Flair

I love the Unity set, Consider Yourself Vintage that I paired and layered with a Stampin' Up  Basic Label singles frame & matching die.  When I was showing off my creation here at home I was surprised to hear my husband say he thought the sentiment was harsh and not funny, so quick note to self, I'll NOT be making him a card like this!   Good to know, good to know...

I used some Core'dinations cardstock that I embossed and sanded on my bottom layer.  Sanding that stuff is fun, but beware of lots of colorful dust, so I'd not suggest wearing white when doing that...
Happy Friday, Friends, both old & new.  Have a terrific weekend!

It's Only Rock n Roll, but I like it...

Ah... it's a beautiful day and finally the weekend... TGIF everyone.
I'm sharing a fun card I made using stamps and die from Papertrey Ink and sentiment stamp from Stampin' Up!  I've been making lots of birthday cards lately, by request, and had fun adding this to my collection to share with friends.  I loved the Rock n' Roll craft theme Trendy Tuesday post I prepared for Paper Crafter's Library this week, so I was easily inspired.

Check out PCL and pay attention to their great promotion going on with discounts on membership, but sign up soon, the offer ends July 5.
  Enjoy & happy crafting, everyone.

Love a delicate doily...

Taking a little shabby chic-like break today...

Doilies are popular it seems, and I love to try my hand at trendy things, so couldn't resist making a quick doily card.   Guess what?  In momentary craft weakness I picked up some regular food grade doilies in my local grocery store to give this trend a try!  Silly, eh?  That's what happens when your mind drifts to craft-land when doing other chores, hee hee hee...
Enjoy & happy crafting everyone!

One Layer Card and Lessons in Hasty Crafting...

Ah, the feeling of being so pleased with a clean and simple one layer card is really nice.  OR it would have been for my card above except for one teeny tiny thing...

You see, I keep stacks of ready to finish cards, some fronts, some interior stamped bases, and the like in my craft space.  Seems like a good idea, at the time at least.  Except when I don't pay attention... Sure enough, grabbed this already pre-folded plain card base and stamped my lovely chevrons and sentiment.  Yippee!  Things even looked relatively straight (rare for me)!  Then I go to show off my wonderful simple stamping to my husband, and what do I find inside my card...?  I had already "pre-stamped" the interior AND it was NOT for a birthday... NO, I created the saddest birthday card ever, with this on the inside:

Oh yeah, major OOPS.
Now, to figure out if I can pass this off as funny or not.... hmmmmm... what do you think?
