Happy Halloween!

This dancing skeleton from Inkadinkado just makes me smile.
The "Happy" die is from My Favorite Things, and Halloween stamp from a retired Stampin' Up greeting.  Oh, and I added a little sequin for fun.  At this rate it's going to take me YEARS to use the bag of a thousand sequins! Maybe that's what I'll hand out this year instead of candy...!!!

Have a fun Halloween!

My Spooky Crew

I'm going to try to post Halloween projects through the rest of the month to go along with my updated blog header.  I love this time of year for the wonderful fall weather.  Then of course there is all the wonderful CANDY!  I have to really try hard to stay away from eating too much, of course.

I had funny using this Itty Bitty stamp from Unity Stamp Company for today's Halloween card, Creepy, Spooky & Scary.  I altered it just a bit to match what I think my small family would dress up as this year if we did... Can you see what I altered?  Hint, hint - Bow wow!

Have a fun, craft-filled day, everyone!

Digi Dare #343 - Oh so, NOT a Domestic Goddess...

Just had to play a little with some digital images... I need a lot of practice!
I'm playing along with the Digi Dare and posted my first page over at the DigiChick gallery.
I combined a lot of Stampin' Up! My Digital Studio toys, including some papers from Domestic Goddess and embellishments from Fan Fair, with a few of my favorite Paula Kesserling images.  Lots of things to play with, very little time.  Ah, and I can smell my pie burning in the oven!!!  Seriously, even the dog is ready to leave the house - it smells bad!!!  EEEK!!!  UGH!! Time to go!  Enjoy.

Sometimes, Life Stinks

Okay, crazy busy stressful week AND I had one of my crazy insomnia induced crafting madness nights yesterday.  Read this and tell me if you've ever had one of these nights...

First you start the evening telling yourself that you'll just do this ONE little project and call it good.  Then you start searching your stash of supplies looking for that one little thing you needed to finish that project.  Then in the search for that one little thing you find a few other things that you forgot about... then you uncover the half finished card that you wanted to do last week which got buried under something else while you were searching for the original "one little thing" you wanted to do.  Then all of a sudden you look at your space and it's a mess.  So you realize that you have all these tiny items that you DON'T want to lose.  Of course you tell yourself that if you just take some time now to organize your space, it would be a good thing to do... then all of a sudden it's 3am... AHHHH!!!!!!

I just got this fun little stamp set from Simon Says Stamp and I had to use it, right?  I stamped and colored the little skunk twice and popped up his body on some dimensional adhesives.  I added the waves of "odor" with a pen (the squiggly lines are not part of the stamp).

This was NOT the original thing I set out to do in my crazy crafting spell, but it got made in between all the madness of searching my supplies, making a few things and trying to clean up (all of that happens simultaneously in the Craft-a-torium, mind you).   NOW I'm off to finishing my chores and heading to bed early.  Thank goodness tomorrow is FRIDAY!

Doing a little Lawnscaping today... Patterned Paper Challenge #67

Playing with my new Lawn Fawn stamps and found this fun Lawnscaping Challenge!

Here's my patterned paper inspired card using my Into the Woods stamps and Stitched Leaves dies from Lawn Fawn:

I love this little fox!  I drew a line around the speech bubble to help define the edges a bit on my tag.  The paper is some retired Stampin' Up! DSP that I love to use for fall.  I've used this so sparingly just because I love the look and the different colors of leaves.  I also cut one of the stitched leaves from a patterned paper.
Have a great day!

Just Let It Go...

TGIF.  Seriously.
I needed to make this card for some anti-stress therapy.
Ah...I feel much better now!
Have a great weekend.

Card recipe details:  Unity Stamp Co kite & sentiment, cloud stamp from Lawn Fawn (you can barely see them) stamped in SU! Soft Sky ink & a little sponging of the same for the sky, arrow patterned paper from Lawn Fawn, Papertrey Ink Berry Sorbet cardstock & ribbon, Stampin' Up! So Saffron, Basic Gray and Whisper White cardstock.  Oh yeah, I paper pieced the kites and rounded a couple corners with my Corner Chomper.

Be Inspired - TAWS Challenge #38

The challenge at The Alley Way Stamps is definitely inspirational.  Lots of great colors, patterns and images.  Working with what I have, I focused on the cute birds and fun colors & stripes for my card.  Here it is...

My Bumps in the Night stamp set has found a semi-permanent home front and center on my craft table for Halloween projects, but I like seeing the images used for many different occasions.  The Thanks sentiment is from Iconic (both sets from TAWS).

Other details:  PTI Canyon Clay cardstock & ribbon, Stampin' Up! Bermuda Bay cardstock, some Copic markers, and a little Lawn Fawn striped patterned paper. I didn't like too much white space below my greeting, so I decided, if in doubt- pierce some holes!

Here was the inspiration photo...

Have a great day!

How Manly...

Attention spouses of hunters/outdoorsmen... this is a terrific set.  Perfect for that occasion where you can use a little help to justify all your craft purchases...!!

I used the Unity Stamp Itty Bitty stamps of the same name and combined with some woodgrain embossed Core-dinations cardstock and a side layer of Woodgrain stamped cardstock.  Lots of manly features pull it all together.  The kitchen twine I knotted is wrapped around a square metal brad and glued into place so it won't go anywhere.  The deer was stamped in Soft Suede and handcut to layer on top of the original image both to cover up a little boo-boo I made and for added dimension.  I really had fun with this one.

Have a great week!

Celebrate World Card Making Day!

Welcome card makers and bloggers!
I love that our hobby has an official day to celebrate our crafts.  I'm very happy to get a chance to participate in the Operation Write Home blog hop event this year.   The blog hop helps me justify this as a special day set aside for crafting and that I didn't just make that up to get out of cleaning the house!  hee hee hee...

The theme this year is THANK YOU and the goal was to create a thank you card using a OWH sketch.  OWH has some great sketches to get your paper craft mojo running.  Here is the sketch I chose:

I only wish more of the words from the patterned paper I chose showed up more, they include great words for our troops overseas, like "honest" and "courageous."   Earlier I made an "Any Hero" card to send with my next stack of OWH cards.  You can check it out on my earlier post for that card here.

Please visit the other blogs that are participating and share your appreciation for the many folks working with OWH to make and send cards to the armed forces serving all over the globe.
Enjoy the blog hop, here's another link to head you back to the main site.  Thanks for stopping by!

Card recipe info:  Stampin' Up! stamp sets Yippee Skippee and Off the Grid, SU! DSP (Epic Day This & That and Comfort Cafe), Pool Party, white, vellum (stamped with sentiment and overlayed on the white), Recollections dark craft cardstock, Cuttlebug herringbone embossing folder, brads, twine, and arrow paper clip.

Thank You to all the Heroes! My Any Hero card....

Are you ready for World Card Making Day?
Operation Write Home is hosting a blog hop tomorrow so I hope you'll have a chance to check it out or take some time to make some cards to send to the organization.  OWH sends handmade cards for our troops to use overseas.  I had a hard time just making ONE card for the hop, so here's a view of one of my cards that I'm going to send as an "Any Hero" card with my next stack of OWH creations.

Here's the OWH sketch I chose to help me get this card together...

Enjoy and hope to see you again tomorrow at the hop!
