Lawnscaping Birthday & A Man Card

Lawnscaping Challenge blog is celebrating birthdays for their 100th Challenge!
Perfect timing for this Lawn Fawn fan as I officially break from Valentine mode into Birthday mode!

For my project, I challenged myself to make a masculine birthday card with my Lawn Fawn products.  I know a macho style can be a challenge in itself , but I wanted to showcase how even your cute Lawn Fawn stamps can be used for a special guy in your life.  Check it out...

I decided to remove the smiley face from the cake stamp from Year Three and add HAPPY using Milo ABC's above birthday.  I kept everything simply layered with subtle patterned paper from Hello Sunshine and Sweater Weather, coordinating everything in a manly brown and blue color scheme.

Hope you are staying warm and enjoying some indoor crafting time if you've got icy or snowy conditions that seem to have hit most of the United States this weekend.  Stay warm and happy crafting, everyone!

Heart FELT Greetings

OH how I love FELT!
I have not used my supply of quality wool felt nearly enough this season.  I love to create felt embellishments.  They are fun to touch while making the project then after the project is complete, I find myself petting my little creation like a fuzzy little kitten... yeah. I'm goofy that way.

For today's project I used My Favorite Things felt and word and circle die, and Mama Elephant stamp, arrow die and Femme Frames dies.  Patterned paper is from BoBunny.

This card was part of my Valentine Extravaganza for the office charity sale, but I don't know that it was properly featured in a post before, so I must add it here.

Hope you will be enjoying some quality time with your loved ones this weekend.  Happy crafting and have a very Happy Valentines Day!

Only One For Me

Yes, my man is the only one for me, but alas this card was not the ONLY Valentine I created.
I have finished my barrage of 36+ Valentine greetings.  That's more cards than I made for Christmas.  I took a card making break last Christmas since I was busy knitting gifts.  A knitting break after Christmas then meant time to pull out the card making supplies again.  I always have to keep busy in the Craft-a-torium.  Can't stand to let my supplies sit idle - too easily they could end up in the box for a garage sale or something while the husband is in his household cleaning binge... EEEK!

On Friday I have a Valentine Gallery Extravaganza over at my new blog, Live. Craft. Repeat.  Check that site out for a few other card ideas.

For the main details on the card featured today, I used stamps from My Favorite Things and dies from Stampin' Up! and Spellbinders.  Patterned paper is from Lawn Fawn.

Happy stamping everyone!

Feminine and Floral

And now for something entirely different.  Last post was a manly-man card, so time to switch gears.

There is quite a blog party going on over at Papertrey Ink.  Lots of contests and inspiring projects.  The latest contest is a bit out of my comfort zone, but while I'm in the swing of love theme cards, I knew my set could not be complete without something flowery... so here it goes...

The lovely single rose was stamped using both stamp sets for PTI's Rosie Posie, the main image and coordinating detail stamp sets.  This was my first time using the Rosie Posie Step 2 set.  NBUS's Darnell should be so proud of me! With two contrasting colors, you can create a lovely flower.   I found it easiest to stamp the darker detail image first, then layer the lighter color solid flower image on top of that.  Stamping in that order gave me the best results.
The rest of my leafy bouquet was stamped using a lovely image from PTI's With Sympathy.  The sentiment is from another PTI stamp set, Heart Prints Sentiments.

This feminine floral card, with the light pink and green is not my usual style, so this was a really good contest to challenge my card making skills.  Just a few other deets...the stitched dies I used came from Lawn Fawn (circle) and Mama Elephant, Femme Frames.  I punched out a few extra leaves for added detail using the bird punch from Stampin' Up!

If you get a chance, stop by my other blog to tell me what style of cards and what style of blog you may prefer.  I started thinking it's time to refresh the look in the Craft-a-torium, so that goes for the blog, too!

Have a lovely evening, everyone!

Manly Man Valentine

Happy to see it's a Valentine challenge over at The Male Room.
Perfect for me, as I didn't forget the dudes during my Valentine craze these past few weeks. I really enjoy making cards my husband will like, so I try to keep a nice supply of guy friendly greetings on hand. I think it helps him embrace my addiction  healthy hobby a little better!

I will probably post a couple man'tines as I just cannot decide which one I like best.  My first one shown here features stamps from The Alley Way Stamps set Lighter than Air.  I am so excited to share this with the TAWS site, too!  The little wrench is from a die cut from My Favorite Things.  It fit so well with the TAWS nuts and bolts, isn't that cool?  The measuring tape stamp is from Stampin' Up!

Until next time, happy stamping everyone!

Love is in the Air

And now, back to our regularly scheduled Valentines...

I took a break from Valentines over the weekend to enter a new challenge, but I made sure to schedule posts displaying more of my Valentines for you this week.  Hope you'll enjoy checking them out.

Unity Stamp Co.'s Plenty of Pandas stamp is back!
This sweet little bear is accompanied by some simple die cuts and layers.  Carefully placed twine was secured with the tiniest amount of glue.  This keeps the little curve of the string in place so you can imagine his little heart balloon really floating in air on the water colored sky.

Other tidbits of crafty info you may like to know:
Sentiment stamp from The Alley Way Stamps, Lighter Than Air
Dies from Mama Elephant Creative Cuts Femme Frames
Lawn Fawn Lawn Cuts Spring Showers (clouds)

Check closely and you'll notice little dots on the heart balloon. Those are from an an Avery Elle  die set, Dotted Borders.  The set includes a couple of these fun little bits that simply deboss little dots where you set them.  I'm finding this a fun set to use.  You should know I have no actual sponsors, I just like to share products that I think you may like, too!
