Comfort in Crafting

So little time, so many crafty things to do...

I have neglected sharing my creativity here as my attention has been required elsewhere, but that doesn't mean I don't find time to make a card for a special occasion.   Card making still puts me in a happy place.  In my craft space, calm and comfort returns when everything else seems so hectic.

When I heard news of someone's retirement and knew about their passion for quilting, coming up with this card was a no-brainer.  Putting the little pieces together, in the colors and patterned paper I thought looked best, THAT was the hard part.

Stampin' Up! Lattice die and square lattice embossing folder combined make a striking card quilt.  The SU!  seam binding ribbon, sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes, and bits of pieces of retired DSP and card stock to match complete the rest.   I cannot wait to share this with my Stampin' Up! consultant,  I think she'd be proud of me!

Now back to simply dreaming of a day when I can spend more time in the craft room.  At least now I know there is one friend getting a chance to enjoy her hobbies more.  Oh, so jealous!

 Happy crafting, friends.

  1. Wow, Katherine, she is going to treasure this personalized card forever and always!! Well done!! I have to say, I can totally relate to the opening line on your post!! Even after retirement, there are never enough hours for creativity!! Enjoy the weekend and I hope you get some time in your happy place!! Hugs, Darnell

  2. Gorgeous! That is the perfect paper for a quilt card too! What a great idea to use the lattice die for the pattern!
